Chelsea defender, Thiago Silva has received Player of the FIFA Club World Cup tournament (Golden Ball) award on Saturday night.

The former Paris Saint-Germain was also named man of the match after thrashing Palmeiras 2-1 in the final of the tournament.

The 37-year-old came ahead of the Palmerais players including Dudu and Danilo to earn the Golden Ball honor.

Meanwhile, Silva gave away the penalty with which the opponent drew level in the 64th minute.

Dudu received the Silver Ball Award for second place best player while Danilo was also honoured with Bronze Ball Award for third place best player of the tournament.

Thomas Tuchel’s men defeated Palmeiras 2-1 at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to win their first FIFA Club World Cup.

Also, Chelsea captain, César Azpilicueta also bagged the FIFA Fair Play award

Romelu Lukaku’s goal in the 55th minute had given Chelsea a lead before Raphael Veiga from Palmerais scored a leveller by penalty in the 64th minute.

Kai Harvertz finally grabbed the Blues’ golden goal with a penalty converted three minutes before the end of the second half, extra-time.
