Fire Razes NNPCL Tank Farm in Apapa | Daily Report Nigeria

On Friday, May 17, a fire razed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Tank Farm, formerly OVH, at Kayode Street, Marine Beach, Apapa, causing widespread panic.

The blaze started around 11 a.m. and people scrambled to put it out before the rescue team arrived.

Led by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), the rescue team worked to put out the fire by 1 pm.

It was said that the fire was caused by a spill of petroleum products inside the terminal.

Mrs Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the incident and said that emergency responders from the oil and gas industry were working together to contain the situation.
