Kano Mosque Fire: 6 Worshippers Killed, Suspect Arrested | Daily Report Nigeria

A devastating fire that engulfed a mosque in Gadan village, Gezawa Local Government Area, Kano State, during morning prayers has left six victims dead.

Daily Report Nigeria had reported that the blaze was allegedly sparked by a 38-year-old man, Shafi’u Abubakar using petrol.

About 24 worshippers were injured, including 20 men and four children on Wednesday.

It was reported that six of the victims succumbed to their injuries, while 18 others are currently receiving treatment at the Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital in Kano.

Fortunately, the Kano State Police Command has confirmed the incident and arrested the suspect, who is now in their custody.

According to the police, the motive behind the attack is believed to be a family conflict over inheritance sharing.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case to uncover more details and ensure justice is served.
