Nigerian highlife singer Chinedu Okoli, famously known as Flavour, has announced the passing of his father, Elder Onyemaechi Okoli.
The ‘Ijele’ crooner shared the heartbreaking news on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, revealing that Elder Okoli passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2023.
In mourning his father, Flavour wrote in Igbo: “My father, Ijele’s father, rest well. God gave and God has taken.”

Condolences have been pouring in from fans and colleagues of the singer through the comment section.
The family has not yet disclosed the funeral arrangements for the deceased.
