Former Nigerian Senator Etant Dies at 71 | Daily Report Nigeria

The senator who represented Akwa Ibom South District during the aborted Third Republic, Etang Umoyo is dead.

He died at the age of 71.

The former lawmaker who was ill for some time, died on Saturday February 13 as announced by his family on Monday February 15.

Umoyo was a foundation member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2017.

He later returned to the PDP in 2018, claiming he was doing so in order to help Governor Udom Emmanuel win a second term.
