Former Plateau Deputy Governor Jethro Akun Dies

A former Deputy Governor of Plateau state, Jethro Akun is dead, Daily Report Nigeria can confirm.

He was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau state.

The 76-year-old was also a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) awardee.

He once served as Commissioner in Ministries of Information and Communication, as well as Youths and Sports during his days of active politics.

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state chairman was appointed Deputy Governor to then Acting Governor,, Michael Botmang following Joshua Dariye’s impeachment in November 2006.

Governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong has condoled with the family of the deceased, praying that God rests Akun’s soul and comfort those who mourn him.
