Former Spokesman of Nigerian Army Dies | Daily Report Nigeria

Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, a former Director of Army Public Relations of the Nigerian Army has been reported dead.

Chukwu died on Thursday in his residence in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The retired army officer was named the spokesperson of the military arm in February 2018 when Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai (retd.) was the Chief of Army Staff.

He succeeded Brigadier General Sani Usman (retd.), who had then proceeded to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Plateau.

Chukwu was the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Public Relations (NASPRI) in Lagos State before he was appointed DAPR.

A statement from DAPR read:

“The DAPR wishes to announce with deep regrets, the passing on of Brig Gen JTE Chukwu (Rtd); a former Director Army Public Relations on Thursday, 5 January, 2023 at his residence in FCT, Abuja. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
