Champions of Europe, Chelsea may be left in the lurch as four first-team defenders are keen to leave the club next summer.

According to UK Mirror, the Blues may loose the four defenders to free transfer in the summer transfer window.

The defenders include the top-rated Antonio Rudiger, captain Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen, all whose contracts run until June 2022.

With the look of things, none of them has shown eagerness to extend contract with the club.

Rudiger’s no-nonsense style of play has embeded him with glory and has made him a fans’ favorite.

Top clubs in Europe including Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich are already eyeing the 28-year-old who has made over 150 appearances since joining Chelsea from Roma in 2017.

Meanwhile, Barca coach, Xavi is reportedly interested in signing the Spanish international, Azpilicueta.

Christensen on the other hand twice refused to pen a new deal in spite of his verbal agreement with the club.

However, the aged former PSG’s star, Silva appears the most likely to stay at Stamford Bridge next summer for he is about to agree fresh terms.
