FUTMinna Lecturer Slaughtered at Home

Dr (Mrs) Adefolalu Funmilola Sherifat, a lecturer with the Department of Biochemistry at the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna has been tragically found slaughtered in her residence in the Gbaiko Area of the town.

The chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) in the school, Professor Gbolahan Bolarin confirmed the distressing news to Channels Television.

According to Bolarin, Sherifat’s body was discovered on Sunday morning when her church members visited her home after she was not seen during service.

Upon forcing open the door to her house, residents found her in a pool of blood with her throat slit, and knives were found beside her.

The spokesman of the Niger Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun who spoke with Channels Television affirmed that further information about the incident would be communicated in due course.

According to some neighbors, the husband of the late university teacher – who was a professor at the same school – has passed away.

Until her death, she lived with a housemaid but fired the girl on Friday, they added.

The police authorities have since moved her body to the mortuary.
