Gombe Varsity Final Year Student Collapses, Dies in Exam Hall

A student of Gombe State University (GSU), Abubakar Muhammad Adam has reportedly collapsed and died while taking an examination.

Adam collapsed during the exam and was rushed to the university clinic, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The 400-level accounting student’s demise was announced on social media by his classmates.

They said:

This is to inform you that Abubakar Muhd Adam, male, with registration number UG18/ASAC/1113 at 400 LEVEL, Accounting Department, was rushed to the university clinic this morning during accounting exams.

“Unfortunately, he passed away at the school clinic. He was later taken to the specialist hospital mortuary along with the university ambulance driver, a representative of the university clinic, University Deputy CSO, SRC VP, and some of his friends.”

It was said that the university has contacted the family and the burial will take place tomorrow.

The uncle of the deceased, who was the headmaster of Kamara Primary School in Bolari, Gombe, has been informed and was on his way from Jos for the funeral as of press time.

Although the police have not yet been officially briefed about the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Mua’zu assured that they will be in touch as soon as they are informed.
