The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf has begged President Bola Tinubu to reopen the country’s land borders for food importation.
The previous administration of President Muhammadu Buhari shut down all land borders to prevent smuggling and encourage local consumption.
However, more than a year later, Yusuf believed that reopening the borders would help reduce inflation and lower food prices, as Nigerians are currently experiencing harsh economic conditions.
