A group under the aegis of Change Makers Community has condemned the gruesome murder of the Anti-cult Volunteer Corps President in Delta state, Amb Austyne Emu.

Austyne was shot dead by suspected cultists in Kwale on the night of Saturday December 5, 2020.

His death sent shockwaves amongst his colleagues and other security stakeholders in the state as he described as an ambassador of peace and unity.

In a statement on Friday and signed by the Secretary of the Interim Management Committee of the Change Makers Community, Winner Weentega Odigiri, the group tasked relevant authorities to bring Austyne’s killers to face justice.

Mr Winner further condoled with the family of the deceased while praying that Austyne’s soul be in repose.

The statement reads;

“As directed by the Interim Management Committee and stakeholders of the Change Makers Community, we condole with the immediate family and members of the Anti-Cult volunteers corps over the gruesome murder of their son, father, husband and president, Austyn Emu.

“As change makers community, we totally condemn the murder of Austyn Emu and call on the relevant security agencies to step up their apparatus to apprehend those responsible for his death.

“The government of the day should not relent but as a matter of fact, work around the clock to ensure that the perpetrators are fished out and prosecuted in accordance to the laws guiding our existence, for failure to do so will endanger the lives of other well meaning individuals and leave the killers on the prowl to cause more havoc to the already fragile situation.

“The change makers community pray for the repose of the soul of our comrade gone ahead with the assurance that his legacies to enthrone an ideal society will be consolidated upon and not left to rot.

“Kindly accept our heartfelt condolences with farewell to Austyn Emu, Rest In Peace,” Winner added.
