Gunmen Kidnap 3 Police Officers in Ogun | Daily Report Nigeria

Gunmen on Thursday, abducted three police officers on duty at Wasinmi axis of Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State.

It was gathered that the abducted officers arrived Ogun State from Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos State, for an investigation and properly booked their arrival at the Wasinmi Divisional Headquarters before proceeding for their place of primary assignment in the area, when the incident happened.

According to a police source who spoke to newsmen, the officers, led by Inspector Oladipo Olayemi, were kidnapped on the road by their abductors, who allegedly accosted them at about 2:30 pm.

The commercial driver, who conveyed the three security operatives to their place of investigation, escaped by a whisker from the kidnappers and consequently reported the matter at the Wasinmi Police Station.

It was further gathered that the Divisional Police Officer in Ewekoro had led his men in search of the missing policemen.

The Ogun State Police Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident said People were kidnapped, but only one policeman was involved.

Oyeyemi added that the police are on the kidnappers’ trail, assuring the victims would be rescued.

We are on the trail of the kidnappers. Do you think we are going to keep quiet? We will get them and rescue the victims unhurt,” he said.
