The kidnappers initially demanded N30 million, but after negotiations, they reduced it to N2.6 million.

Eliazer’s wife was in a vehicle ahead of his, and by the time his vehicle reached the location, all occupants had already been led into the bush.

He said:
My wife and I were travelling to attend our church convention scheduled for Lokoja, but I decided to follow a different vehicle as the Toyota could not contain all of us, else I would have been in the car with her.”
