A man has taken his life in the Agege area of Lagos state.

According to reports, the man, identified as Olatunji, 54, was said to have ended it all at about 8pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said the case was reported to teg police station by the deceased’s elder sister, who added that he took his life in a store in their house.

“A complainant reported at the Elere Division stating that at about 8 pm of the same date, her younger brother, one Olatunji, a male, aged 54 years, committed suicide by hanging himself to d£ath in the store of their house,” the PPRO said.

“Officers of the division immediately visited the scene and the deceased was lowered and taken to the Orile Agege General Hospital, where he was certified dead.”

Hundeyin added that upon thorough investigations, no sign of violence was found on the deceased. He also added that the body has been transferred to the Mainland Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for an autopsy.

 

In related news, a man was rescued by good Samaritans after attempting suicide on a bridge in Lagos.

In a video making rounds online, the man could been seen attempting to jump off the bridge before being held and rescued by passersby.
