Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has shared critical advice for Nigerians navigating the current economic turmoil, emphasizing prudent choices to mitigate hardship.

In a recent Instagram post, Agu outlined several key actions to avoid, highlighting the pressing issues surrounding the high cost of living and inadequate healthcare access.

“Here is a list of things to watch out for, the way things are going in our country today,” Agu stated in a video.

He urged citizens to avoid falling ill, stressing the growing difficulties in accessing healthcare: “Number one, try not to fall sick if possible.”

In his practical advice, Agu also recommended maintaining a functional mobile phone with active data for communication and updates, stating, “Number two, make sure your phone is in good shape and ensure your data is active.”

He encouraged staying hydrated and eating healthy food, acknowledging the scarcity of essentials: “Make sure you drink plenty of water and healthy food, that is, if there is food to eat.”

One of Agu’s most pointed warnings involved the challenges of family planning during economic instability.

He cautioned against unintended pregnancies, saying, “Number four, no give woman belle o, for this hard time,” underscoring the financial strain of raising children in the current climate.

Agu concluded his list with a reminder of the importance of personal safety: “Avoid cases that would land you in prison,” reiterating the necessity of staying out of trouble.

He emphasized the importance of faith, saying, “And finally, which is the most important, pray to God.”
