Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos harbors optimism about their prospects of reaching the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.

Bafana face long-standing rivals Nigeria in the opening semifinal clash at Stade Bouaké in Ivory Coast, kickstarting at 7pm. Meanwhile, the hosts Ivory Coast will square off against DR Congo in the second semifinal at 10pm.

Hugo Broos, who previously steered Cameroon to victory in 2017, finds himself just two matches away from potentially securing another final triumph, this time with Bafana.

However, the journey ahead is fraught with challenges, particularly against a formidable Nigerian side whom Bafana have yet to overcome in AFCON encounters.

Nevertheless, the Belgian tactician remains resolute in his belief that Bafana possesses the capability to emerge victorious. Broos expresses confidence in his players’ ability to deliver, paving the way for advancement to the coveted final stage.

Hugo Broos said:

“We don’t fear them. We know they have good players. We will try to do something. We know that their defence is good, but those are things that were said about Morocco also and we won,”
