HushPuppi: Nigerians Barred From Taking Jobs in Dubai

The recent arrest of popular Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas, otherwise known as HushPuppi, over cybercrime activities has left other Nigerians living in Dubai at risk of unemployment.

Multiple employers of labour in the United Arab Emirates have placed an embargo on Nigerians from applying for job openings in their firms that Africans alike are meant to apply for.

An advert by Shirley Recruitment Consultants in Dubai for merchandisers with clear emphasis that they do not want Nigerians.

“Male or female African candidates except Nigerians,” one job advert from Dubai reads.Another reads: “Candidates of every nationality, except Nigerians, should apply.”Painfully, students are not exempted from the those to be denied any patronage in the UAE.Another Nigerian who applied to SANS Technology Institute in the United States was denied admission because he’s from Nigeria.
