Lukman Soladoye, a father of four, has told a court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, that he beats his wife and kids when they err but loves them and only wants the best for them.
Soladoye showed up in court on Tuesday to answer charges of assault against his wife, Kemi Soladoye and their four children.
Lodging complaint via her attorney, B.A. Tanko, the complainant said she had considered getting a divorce because of the constant abuse but she ultimately decided to work things out with her spouse.

She urged the judge to warn the defendant to desist from hurting her and their kids physically.
The judge advised: “If your wife does anything wrong to you, talk to her about it and show your displeasure; you are not supposed to beat your wife.
“As for your children, beating is not the only way to correct a child; always show love and affection to your children, pray for them, and advise them”,

The judge instructed the wife to notify the court if her husband assaults her once more and stated that the court would continue to keep an eye on the defendant’s behaviour.
