I was paid N500,000 for the mission – Suspected Child Trafficker Confesses

Men of the Borno State Police Command have arrested a suspected child trafficker for the alleged kidnap of two children.

The suspect, identified as Nsa Heneswa was said to have kidnapped two Almajiri children and a two-year-old girl at the Borno Express Motor Park on August 4, 2022, intending to sell them.

Confirming the incident to NAN, the state Commissioner of Police (CP), Abdu Umar said the suspect arrived in Maiduguri on Wednesday, August 3, and went to the Monday market, where she lured one of the vulnerable children, popularly known as “Almajiri” away.

It was gathered that she called one of the children and offered him N200, promising to buy him clothes if he would go with her.

After that, she asked him to follow her to the motor park where she asked him to wait for her.

She also went into town where to lure another victim while pretending to be a buyer at the market.

When she arrived at the motor park, she requested a vehicle that was going to Lagos but members of the union told her it was already late.

She then begged for a place to stay till the next day. Again, she went out and picked the third child, making three of them.

However, her cover was blown after a commercial driver became suspicious of her movement and alerted security agents at the motor park.

The CP added that the woman confessed to have handpicked the children, with the intention of taking them to someone named “Lady B” in Lagos.

She confessed of being adding paid N500,000 for the job.

“Honestly, this is the first time I am doing this. I have never done this before. A woman in Lagos introduced me to this. I also have a nurse who was assisting me in the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital, ”she said.
