'I Won’t Rush to Restructure Nigeria' - Tinubu | Daily Report Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has announced that he will not rush the process of restructuring the country.

Tinubu stressed the importance of establishing a solid foundation in the face of economic challenges.

During his condolence visit on Wednesday to the family of the late former Ondo governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, the President disclosed his confidence that Nigeria would overcome its current economic difficulties.

The visit occurred three months after Akeredolu’s passing. The former Ondo governor, who succumbed to prostate cancer in a German hospital, had served as the chairman of the South-West Governors Forum.

Furthermore, the President acknowledged the hardships faced by Nigerians, attributing them to various policy decisions made by his administration.

He said:

I’m aware of the need to restructure Nigeria but that proper foundation must be laid before bringing the restructuring in place such that if it is done in a rush without proper foundation, the restructuring may collapse very soon but it would be done.

“I appreciate the pains Nigerians are going through, but very soon Nigeria will overcome it; that is a matter of time before the kind of policies the government is implementing will bring positive solutions to the challenges.”
