IBB Drums Support for Youths in 2023 Elections

Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) has urged young Nigerians to vote in the 2023 presidential elections, claiming that only they can face the realities of today’s global challenges.

Babangida made the statement during a visit to his Hilltop residence in Minna, Niger State, by presidential aspirant Adamu Garba, who is 40 years old.

Garba, an All Progressives Congress APC chieftain, aspires to be Nigeria’s president.

In comparison to the older generation, the younger generation, according to IBB, has the capacity to effectively run the country due to their good education, energy, and brain.

He also stated that only young people can ensure that the vision of Nigeria’s founding fathers is realized, and he has always believed in their potential.

He praised the aspirant’s bravery, saying, “you are the guys who are going to make sure that the vision for Nigeria that our founding fathers believed in is realizable, and I have always believed in your potentials.”

“I applaud your ambition; all you have to do now is go out there and mobilize people of like minds and ages.”

A lot of us were about the same age when we entered politics and governance, and with vision, we will move to see Nigeria move forward.

Garba told journalists shortly after meeting with the elder statesman that he was in Minna to seek the former military President’s blessings, guidance, and support for his presidential ambition.

The APC chieftain and 2019 presidential candidate decried the polarization in the polity that is tearing the people apart, calling for a return to the country’s economic integration without rancor.
