Youths under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Youths (DIY), have congratulated Sheriff Oborevwori on his victory at last Saturday’s governorship poll.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared winner of the governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Monday.
Oborevwori polled 360,342 votes ahead of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 240,299 votes to come second.

In a statement on Thursday signed Chief Frank Akiefa and Pudiya Biakpara, Chairman and Coordinator respectively, DIY said Oborevwori’s victory is for all Deltans.
They assured the governor-elect of their support towards ensuring the absolute fulfilment of his mandate for people of the state.
It said;
“The Delta Ijaw Youths, wishes to congratulate the Delta State Governor-Elect, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the resounding victory at the polls in the just concluded gubernatorial election.
“DIY is the youth wing of the Delta Ijaw Elders Forum that endorsed Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party as the sole candidate of Ijaw Nation for the just concluded governorship election.
“Your excellency sir, your victory is a victory for all Deltans irrespective of political affiliations as it shows that the hand of the Almighty God is truly on you and our dear state.
“DIY assures Your Excellency of its full support and loyalty as you embark on this new journey towards elevating our dear state to a higher level with the MORE Agenda.
“We wish you God’s guidance, strength, direction, and the wisdom to deliver on your mandate to our people. Once again, congratulations your excellency sir.”
