Lauretta Onochie, President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on social media, has explained that Imam of the Apo Mosque in Abuja, Sheikh Nuru Khalid was sacked for inciting violence.

Report had it that the Imam was suspended by the Mosque Steering Committee for criticising the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration over the recent attacks and killing of innocent Nigerians by terrorists in Kaduna State.

Reacting to condemnations that have trailed the development, Onichie on her Twitter page, wrote: “FALSE: Popular Abuja Imam Sheikh Khalid, suspended for criticising Buhari over train attack.

“TRUTH: The Islamic cleric was sacked for inciting sermon on Friday, April 1, 2022.
