The incumbent leadership of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) has listed the attainment of a prosperous Ijaw nation as priority.
This will form a part of the conversation at the forthcoming town hall meeting of the apex sociocultural body of the Ijaws.
The event themed “The Imperatives and Strategies For More United, Virile and Prosperous Ijaw Nation”, is billed for Saturday May 20, 2023 at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State.

According to the announcement by the INC National Publicity Secretary, Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, the “forum will bring together Ijaw sons and daughters of the Western Zone to discuss prevailing issues that momentarily affect the Ijaw nation.”

Oyakemeagbegha added that similar town hall meetings were held in the Eastern and Central Zones respectively in 2022.
The event will be chaired by former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo while
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and his Deputy, Kingsley Otuaro will served as Special Guest of Honour and Guest of Honour respectively.
Also, Chairman of the Ijaw Traditional Rulers Council of Delta State, HRM Elder Capt. Joseph Timiyan, the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom will serve as Father of The Day.
Side attractions include individual and cultural groups displays.
