Oyakemeagbegha recalled that Prof. Benjamin Okaba had promised a people-oriented administration during is inaugural speech and the body was out to fulfil that.

Part of these promises was to “hold NEC meetings across various Ijaw communities to bring to bear the ideology of the Ijaw course, the Ijaw struggle, to propagate and promote the activities of the Ijaw National Congress and to properly integrate the communities and the grass root to the Ijaw National Congress.”

The National Publicity Secretary, further stated that, “before the end of this tenure, the NEC would have visited over 70 percent of Ijaw Communities.

“The idea is to further strengthen the unity among neighboring Ijaw communities.”
