The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proceeded with the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Edo State on Monday.
INEC’s decision came despite the All Progressives Congress (APC) calling for CVR cancellation.
Earlier, Edo State APC Chairman, Emperor Tenebe had requested that INEC cancel the exercise due to damage to its secretariat and registration materials.

However, the exercise went ahead, with observers noting that Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection was also taking place concurrently in select local governments, including Oredo, Egor, and Ikpoba-Okha.

The exercise aims to register new voters and facilitate vote transfers ahead of the September 21 governorship election.
