He described insecurity as a direct threat to development, noting, “Insecurity is an enemy of development, progress and prosperity.”

Tinubu disclosed that his administration is intensifying international engagements to secure support, equipment, and training, revealing that recent discussions abroad centred heavily on security cooperation.

“One of the major discussions in the UK is equipment and support… I had a lengthy discussion with Emmanuel Macron on their collaboration with us,” he said.

The President added that Nigeria may leverage goodwill and credit facilities from partner nations to strengthen its security architecture.

He also urged governors to complement federal efforts by supporting vulnerable citizens, stressing that governance must address both welfare and security concerns.

Warning of external economic pressures, Tinubu noted that the ongoing Middle East crisis could trigger inflation and affect purchasing power, potentially increasing pressure on government to provide relief.

Reaffirming his administration’s resolve, he said investments in technology and security infrastructure would be ramped up to defeat terrorism and criminality across the country.
