At least 14 Nigerian nationals have been listed on the International Police (INTERPOL) wanted list for various crimes, including human trafficking, drug smuggling, robbery, and forgery.

According to the Red Notices published on the INTERPOL website, the suspects are wanted by different countries where they allegedly committed the crimes.

The suspects include Felix Omoregie, wanted by Belgian authorities for allegedly leading a criminal organisation that exploits minors for prostitution; Jessica Edosomwan, wanted by French authorities for human trafficking; and Uche Egbue, wanted by Argentine authorities for drug trafficking.

Other suspects listed include Jude Uzoma, wanted by Brazilian authorities for drug trafficking; Chinedu Ezeunara, wanted by Uruguayan authorities for drug trafficking; and Benedict Okoro, wanted by Nicaraguan authorities for organised crime.

The INTERPOL Red Notices also listed Ikechukwu Obidiozor, Austine Costa, and Alachi Stanley as wanted by Angolan authorities for alleged kidnapping, robbery, and illegal possession of firearms.

In a statement, INTERPOL explained that the Red Notices were aimed at alerting the public to possible threats and seeking help in locating the wanted individuals.

“A Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action,” the statement read.

The global police body urged members of the public to report to their local police authorities if they have any information about the wanted persons.
