– Charges Burutu people to demand for accountability from Angele

The Ijaw People’s Development Initiative (IPDI), has again accused the Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Godknows Angele of misappropriating another ₦2,159,937,833.52 billion FAAC allocation accrued to the Council in the 2018 fiscal year.

According to the group, Burutu people are interested to know how the said money was spent, as they demand that measurable projects the funds were spent on be made public.

In a press statement signed by the group’s Board of Truster Chairman, Mr Cletus Itari, the IPDI threatened to institute a legal action against Angele if he fails to account for the alleged misappropriated funds.

The group decried the Chairman’s incapability to put the huge funds to good use since 2018, saying he could not embark on any people oriented project in any of the communities in the Burutu.

The group further warned that Angele should account for all money received by the Council as federal allocation for the entire duration he has stayed in office with immediate effect or risk being sent to jail.

The group further urged Burutu people to rise from their slumber and demand for explanation on how funds are spent in Council to checkmate subsequent Chairmen in the council from misappropriating funds meant to develop the LGA.

The reiterated that Burutu LGA received ₦2,159,937,833.52bn allocations from the Federal government in 2018 and that the money was misappropriated as there was no commensurable development in the entire local government area.
