IYC: CLECO Extends Western Zone Clan Elections Deadline

IYC: CLECO Extends Western Zone Clan Elections Deadline

The Clan Electoral Committee has announced an extension of date in its conduction of elections for clan structures of the Ijaw Youth Council in Western Zone.

CLECO Chairman, Comrade Egbor Bob Joe disclosed this to Daily Report Nigeria in a telephone conversation on Thursday.

According to Egbor, the move to extend the elections date was premised on the need for CLECO to address lingering ‘contingencies in some areas.’

The CLECO Chairman explained that the body has “extended the election timeline by one week” to enable it meet up some oversight duties.

By the development, the clan elections earlier scheduled to end on Thursday April 18, 2024 will now terminate on Wednesday April 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Zonal Electoral Committee has commenced the sale of forms ahead of the forthcoming elections of the Ijaw Youth Council, Western Zone.

ZECO Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Akpule made the confirmation on Friday morning via a telephone interview with Daily Report Nigeria.

According to Akpule, sales of form will run from April 19 – 26, 2024 at the committee’s office in Warri, Delta State.

The elections will hold on June 8, 2024 at a yet to be announced venue.
