IYC ELECTIONS: Igarama Declares For Western Zone Chairmanship

Egbema-born Nicholas Tamaraudenyefa Igarama has declared his intention to contest the chairmanship position of the Ijaw Youth Council, Western Zone.

Igarama made the declaration before the Edo chapter of the IYC during a meeting of stakeholders on Saturday in Benin, the state capital.

The declaration was made in his primary constituency, amidst esteemed leaders and members of the Ijaw Youth Council, Egbema clan and the Edo house generally.

Speaking with his close associates and supporters, Igarama, said;

“On the 22nd day of March 2024, I had the privilege to formally notify my primary constituency, the Egbema clan, within the Ijaw Youth Council, of my intention to contest for the esteemed position of Chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council, Western Zone. Recognizing the importance of garnering the blessings of his kinsmen, he added that “I took the opportunity to convey my aspiration to the IYC family in Egbema clan.”

Furthermore, Igarama expressed optimism, stating that, “I have also humbly presented my candidacy to a larger audience in the Edo house, believing that by divine providence, success awaits with the go ahead and blessings of the Edo house.”

He expressed gratitude to Ijaw nation for the opportunity to serve; while, emphasizing on his commitment to the “Rebirth Agenda,” aimed at advancing progress and empowerment within the Ijaw Youth Council and Ijaw nation in general.

In an excerpt Igarama revealed the plan of his Rebirth Agenda, stressing that, under his leadership, the vision is clear: and indeed the vision is to lay a solid foundation for progress and empowerment.

Details of his policy thrust, he titled, “MY VISION: Building a Foundation for Progress and Empowerment,” as a policy thrust in his Rebirth Agenda will soon be unveiled, disclosing that something transformative is underway for the Ijaw nation. It’s time to unite and embrace this movement.”

Igarama has a distinguished history of over a decade in progressive activism, during which he has garnered extensive knowledge from prominent figures in the emancipation struggle of the Ijaw people.
