The Ijaw Youths Council in Western Zone has extended congratulations to the newly elected National Executive Council led by Jonathan Lokpobiri.
In a statement singed by Dr. (Comrade) Doubra Collins Okotete – Chairman, Comrade Olu Derimo – Secretary and Lugard Izoukumor – Information Officer the Zone expressed optimism that the 9th NEC will do well to further the progress of Council.
It reads;
“We warmly congratulate the 9th NEC of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide ably led by, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri on their respective electoral victories, with full optimism that the 9th NEC with people of proven capacity, resourcefulness and character will deepen our collective agitation for revenue derivation and resource control for our people our common patrimony.

“As a Zone, we look forward to building on a robust partnership with the 9th NEC, in areas where the IYC will be independent from financial inducements, and to share ideas on how we can improve in capacity development and revenue generation, including fostering unity for all Ijaw youths.
“In Western Zone, we have worked to strengthen ties and bond between the youths and elders, particularly in impactful inclusive programs. Thus, we look forward to continuing this work with Mr. President and his executive to support their clear and purposeful vision as it affects Ijaw nation.
“On behalf of the Ijaw youths in Western Zone, we send warm wishes to the 9th NEC; while, praying for God’s wisdom and guidance as they discharge and set a clear agenda in proffering far reaching solutions to the multiplicity of problems bedevilling Ijaw nation, particularly Council.”
