The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Western Zone has expressed gratitude to Sir Godfrey Tare Pondi, the Managing Director (Operations) of Tantita Security Service Nigeria Limited over his unwavering support and contributions towards the recently unveiled Secretariat Annex.
The project, hailed as a significant achievement for the IYC and the Ijaw people, was unveiled on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
During the unveiling ceremony, the IYC Western Zone extended heartfelt appreciation to those whose contributions were critical to the project’s success.
Speaking at the event, Nicholas Igarama, the Chairman IYC Western Zone, rendered special appreciation to Sir Godfrey Tare Pondi for his instrumental role towards realizing the Secretariat Annex.

“We particularly appreciate Sir Godfrey Tare Pondi, whose unwavering support and leadership made this project a reality for the Western Zone. His contributions were critical in bringing this vision to life, and for this, we are immensely grateful,” the statement read.
The IYC Western Zone also expressed gratitude to Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, the IYC National President, for his immense support and contributions, which were crucial in guiding the project to completion.

“We also thank our esteemed National President, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, for his immense support and contributions to the project. His leadership continues to inspire the Ijaw Youth Council, and his guidance was instrumental in the success of this initiative,” the statement continued.
Igarama further acknowledged the contributions of other key figures, including Chief Akpos Meze, Chief Thompson Fuoye, Comrade Victor Isereke, Barr. Frank Ekpemupolo, Rt. Hon. Bob Collins Igetei, Amb. Princewill Yerin Binebai, Comrade Doubra Wuruyai, and several other critical stakeholders.

Looking ahead, the IYC Western Zone hopes that the Secretariat Annex will serve as a central hub for youth engagement and development in the region. Chairman Igarama reaffirmed the council’s commitment to furthering the cause of Ijaw unity and empowerment.
“As we move forward, the Secretariat Annex will serve as a hub for youth engagement and development, furthering our collective mission to build a stronger and more unified Ijaw community. We remain committed to ensuring that the values of our people are upheld and the future of our youth is secure.”
The unveiling of the Secretariat Annex marks a major step in the IYC’s mission to provide better administrative structures for youth leadership and to create opportunities for Ijaw youth to engage in nation-building activities.
