The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will begin on Monday, January 26, and end on February 28 at approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this on Saturday in Lagos during a meeting with Commissioners for Education ahead of the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry exercises.

Oloyede said the sale of UTME application documents (ePINs) would commence earlier, running from January 19 to February 26, ahead of the actual registration period.

He added that the mock examination selection would close on February 16, while the sale of Direct Entry application documents and ePIN vending would take place from March 2 to April 25.

The registrar also revealed that UTME results of underage candidates would only be released after the completion of a full evaluation process to ensure proper assessment of those seeking age waivers.

Oloyede warned CBT centres participating in the registration exercise that JAMB would monitor their activities live from its headquarters, stressing that any centre not visible on the monitoring system would not be paid and could have its registrations invalidated.

He disclosed that 924 CBT centres have been provisionally approved but will undergo a final test before full accreditation.

Oloyede further clarified that candidates are not required to pay any service charge to CBT centres, noting that only JAMB-approved registration fees apply.

He also dismissed concerns over distant posting, stating that candidates would only be posted to examination towns selected during registration, while advising candidates to register early to secure their preferred locations.
