Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix could make a surprising return to Chelsea, according to Mail Sport. This development comes after the collapse of a deal for his teammate, Omorodion, who was set to join the Premier League side.
The two clubs had agreed on a £34.5 million transfer fee, but complications in finalizing the contract led to the deal falling through.
Atletico Madrid had intended to sell Omorodion to help fund their pursuit of Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez. With those deals still in progress but needing financial support, Atletico has reopened talks with Chelsea regarding Felix.
