Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has shared his pick for the best player in the world this year. The England midfielder was asked to choose between Spanish midfielder Rodri and his fellow Englishman Jude Bellingham.
Both Rodri and Bellingham are strong contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or due to their outstanding performances for both club and country.
Rodri played a crucial role in Manchester City’s historic treble last season and helped the team secure their fourth consecutive Premier League title in 2024. He was also named Player of the Tournament as Spain clinched the European Championship on Sunday.

Bellingham, on the other hand, had a stellar first season at Real Madrid, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists. His contributions helped the team win La Liga and the Champions League. Additionally, he was part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad that finished as runners-up at Euro 2024.
In a video circulating online, several Ajax players, including Jordan Henderson, were asked to predict this year’s Ballon d’Or winner. Initially, Jordan Henderson chose Rodri but quickly asked if he could change his answer: “I just want to change my answer…is that alright? Can I change?” After being given the green light, Henderson promptly switched his pick to Bellingham.
Three other players also chose Bellingham, while the majority went with either Vinicius or Rodri.
