Jose Peseiro’s contract as the coach of Nigeria’s senior national team has ended after the Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite guiding the team to the tournament’s semifinals and even reaching the final, where they lost 2-1 to the host country, Peseiro’s future is uncertain.
He has the option to extend his contract for two more years, but as of now, he is without a contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Discussions regarding his future are expected to take place, with Minister for Youths and Sports, Senator John Enoh, expressing interest in retaining Peseiro as the team prepares for the qualifiers for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, set to begin in March.
