Bandits attacked an ECWA Church in Omugo community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting several worshippers during Sunday morning service.
A source from the Kwara South Joint Security Watch, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that at least seven persons were kidnapped.

Security operatives reportedly rescued three of the abducted victims, while efforts continue to free the remaining individuals.
Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, praised the swift response of security forces, forest guards, and local vigilantes. She said, “Their coordinated efforts led to the rescue of three abducted victims and helped repel the attackers.”
Olukoju added, “The government has directed security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of the remaining victims.” She described the attack on a place of worship as cowardly and unacceptable.
She urged residents to cooperate with authorities and assist ongoing security operations, noting that forest combing operations have already yielded positive results in reducing criminal activities.
The government reassured the public of its commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining collaboration with all security stakeholders.
