JUST IN: Tragedy Strikes as Six Teenagers Drown in Kaduna River After Junior WAEC Exam | Daily Report Nigeria

A devastating incident has occurred in Ribang (Mbang) village, Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, where six teenagers lost their lives in a drowning tragedy in the Mbang river on Tuesday evening.

The victims, all students of Government Secondary School Fadan Chawai, had just finished writing their Junior WAEC exam and were returning home when the tragic incident occurred.

According to Pastor Simon Ishaku, National Public Relations Officer of Ribang Development Association, three bodies have been recovered and buried, while three others remain missing. The community is in mourning, and the parents of the victims are in shock.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of the community, as the Mbang river has claimed lives in the past.

 

The community is appealing to the Federal Government, Governor Uba Sani, Senator Sunday Katung, and their House of Representative members to provide access to basic amenities such as schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges to prevent such tragedies in the future.
