Kaduna: Troops Kill Two Bandits, Recover Weapons

Troops of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and Operation Whirl Punch have killed two bandits in a clearance operation in the general area of Juji and Telele-Kaso, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the acting deputy director, Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army, in a statement on Tuesday, disclosed that the troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle and three AK-47 rifle magazines.

The statement further stated, “Five 7.62mm (special) ammunition, two locally-made hand grenades, four handsets, two motorcycles bearing, spanners, screwdrivers and two bags.”

Colonel Yahaya said that the terrorists who opened fire on sighting the troops approaching their location were overpowered by troops superior and overwhelming firepower, thereby killing two of the bandits while others fled in disarray.

According to the statement, Major General Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch, has implored the general public to continue to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies with credible information.
