Kano Govt Bans Tricycle Operations on Major Roads | Daily Report Nigeria

The Kano State Government has banned tricycle riders known as “Adaidaita Sahu” from operating on some major roads in the state.

The ban will come into effect from Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
The government, through the Kano Road Traffic Agency, said it took the action after making provision for 100 ultra-modern buses and 50 taxis that would be conveying passengers on the roads prohibited for tricycle operators.

The order was contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of KAROTA, Nabilusi Na’isa.

The statement read in part,

“Adaidaita Sahu drivers (tricycle operators) are prohibited from following Ahmadu Bello Way by Mundubawa road to Gazawa and Tal’udu road to Gwarzo.”

According to the statement, As an alternative, the government has provided 100 ultra-modern buses and 50 taxis that would be conveying passengers on the prohibited roads.

The statement added that the government will also announce when tricycle operators will stop using other major roads in the state once it provides more ultra-modern buses and taxis to to ease traffic congestion.
