Kano State Government has offered a Postgraduate Scholarship to Indigenes in the state with a First Class Honours Degree.

The scholarship was aimed at providing opportunities for suitably qualified graduates to undertake postgraduate studies in both Nigerian and Foreign Universities for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.

It called for qualified candidates who have obtained a First Class Honours Degree from a recognized institution.

The scholarship covered tuition fees, accommodation, and a monthly stipend for the duration of the program.

Interested applicants were asked to submit their applications online through the scholarship portal.

In his speech at the inauguration, Government Abba Yusuf had promised to give scholarships to its “best graduates” and also restore some pending school projects in the state.

He said:

“As promised, we have opened application for Postgraduate Scholarship for Kano State Indigenes with First Class Honours Degree.

“Applications are invited from suitably qualified graduates to undertake postgraduate studies in Nigerian and Foreign Universities for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.

“In my inaugural address, I declared that in line with our promise; The Scholarship Policy for our best graduates to pursue higher degrees locally and overseas is hereby restored. In the coming months, additional information will be rolled out, and the screening process will commence.

“Also, the 47 Technical Colleges and 44 Schools of Islamic Studies across all our Local Government Areas that were established by Senator Kwankwaso’s Administration, and which were closed down and abandoned by the previous administration will be reopened to resume admission and commence academic activities.”
