Ambassador Machage collapsed at home and was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly afterward in Abuja, Nigeria.

When this unfortunate incident occurred, his wife was with him.

“In confirming Amb. Machage’s death, Principal Secretary Ambassador Macharia Kamau stated that the Ministry and the country had lost a dedicated and committed leader.”

Meanwhile, his twin brother, Sospeter Magita, a former Kenyan Ambassador to Russia, told reporters that the commissioner collapsed and died at home after eating lunch.

Magita stated that his brother Gisuka has been in good health.

“It’s a very sad day for me because I lost my best friend and confidant today,” he said.

He also stated that his brother died while in the company of his wife, with whom they had been living in Nigeria.

Recall that Tagelsir Ali, the former Sudanese High Commissioner to Nigeria, died on October 24, 2014, in Abuja.
