King Charles 111 marks Commonwealth’s Day in grand style.

Davido Features alongside many global artists in the King’s Playlist broadcasting on Apple Music.
King Charles 111 has announced that Davido, Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue and others will feature in his 17-song playlist to mark 2025 Commonwealth Day.
Commonwealth Day celebration is an annual event held in celebration of the 56 nations that make up the voluntary association, which King Charles 111 leads.

On this year’s celebration, The King unveils a personal curated playlist to showcase his eclectic musical tastes.
Collaborating with Apple Music, a special playlist entitled “The King’s Music Room,” will broadcast on the platform on Monday and Tuesday in celebration of Commonwealth Day.
The playlist features an array of artists from across the Commonwealth nations, including Nigeria’s Afrobeat star Davido, Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley, Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue, and contemporary British singer Raye.
The 17- songs Playlist was recorded within the historic walls of Buckingham Palace and aims to offer listeners an intimate glimpse into the King Charles ‘s musical journey.
Speaking in a trailer broadcast, King Charles shares personal anecdotes about his interactions with some of the featured artists and how their music has influenced his life.
He emphasizes music’s profound ability to evoke memories, provide comfort, and unite people in celebration, stating, “Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me… it brings us joy.”

This program further highlights not just the King’s diverse musical preferences but also unveils the rich cultural tapestry of the 56-nation Commonwealth.
By featuring genres like disco 1930 crooner, reggae, and Afrobeat; the playlist celebrates the creative contributions of artists from various backgrounds.
Listeners can tune into “The King’s Music Room” on Apple Music 1 starting March 10 at 6 a.m. GMT, with the broadcast also available on demand for Apple Music subscribers.
The King explained that the idea for the choice of playlist was a new and creative way to mark Commonwealth Day
“So this is what I particularly wanted to share with you—songs which have brought me joy,” he says in the broadcast. “Thank you for listening. I wish you all every possible blessing.”
Since the announcement of Davido as part of the artists on the King’s playlist, social media have gone agog as fans expressed their joy, hailing the afrobeat star as the real “30 BG”.
