Military Vows to Hunt Down Killers of Troops in Niger

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen Christopher Musa has vowed to hunt down perpetrators behind the recent deaths of troops in Niger State.

Speaking at the burial ceremony of the soldiers in Abuja, Christopher vowed to hunt down the bandits, terrorists, and perpetrators of violence, promising to bring them to justice and restore peace and security across the nation.

He said:

To the bandits, terrorists, and perpetrators of violence, we will hunt you down, we will bring you to justice and will restore peace and security to every corner of our nation.

“Your actions may cause pain and suffering but they will never extinguish the spirit of unity and resilience that bonds within us.”

The CDS General assured the families of the deceased that their sacrifice was not in vain.

The remains of the twenty-two military personnel were laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja on Friday, August 25, 2023.
The ceremony was attended by the rank and file of the Nigerian Armed Forces, as well as the families of the deceased.

The Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; Deputy Governor of Niger State, Yakubu Garba; Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa; and other service chiefs were in attendance.
