Buckingham Palace has announced that King Charles III is expected to resume his public engagements soon, following his cancer diagnosis earlier in 2024.
According to palace officials, the King’s medical team is satisfied with his progress and treatment so far.
In a sign of his impending return to duties, King Charles and Queen Camilla are scheduled to visit a cancer treatment center together next week, and preparations are underway for a state visit from Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako in June.
The King has been on a greatly reduced royal workload since his diagnosis in February and will continue to undergo treatment.
