Omotosho begged the aggrieved Nigerian youths to shelve their protest, saying the government had heard their demands. “For our people protesting, we have heard their rights, we have heard their say, Sanwo-Olu the governor has said he has heard them. Now it is time to go home, now it is time to end their protest.”

Sanwo-Olu also condemned a post made by @Lagospedia on X (formerly Twitter) that called on the Igbo to vacate Lagos and the South-West.

The post generated controversy on social media, and the governor’s media aide, Gboyega Akosile, said Sanwo-Olu views the post as reckless, divisive, and an attempt to sow discord between the Yoruba in the South-West and other tribes.

The governor appealed to Lagosians not to allow anyone to create tensions in the state and called on security agencies to investigate those behind the post and bring them to justice.

“Mr. Governor enjoins Lagosians to ignore the post and any post of that nature, promising to double his efforts towards ensuring lasting peace in the state,” he added.
