Sowore Invites Burna Boy to Join RevolutionNow Protest

Publisher of the SaharaReporters media news agency, Omoyele Sowore, has sent invitation to popular Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, to join in his organized protest scheduled for October 1, a day marked for Nigeria’s 60th Independence anniversary.

Sowore announced the invitation via his official Twitter handle, @YeleSowore.

From the post, Sowore compared Burna Boy to the late legendary Nigerian afro-beat musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

He praised Burna Boy as he is being celebrated by foreign media as a revolutionary musician, but noted that the singer has not done any revolutionary act compared to Fela.

Sowore wondered why Burna Boy has never led a protest in the country while he invited the singer for the forthcoming protest slated for October 1, 2020.

Sowore’s tweet reads;

“Hello @burnaboy, everywhere I turn people describe you as a revolutionary musician, the foreign media even celebrate you, compare you to Fela Kuti, but I am yet to see you lead anyone to a police station carrying a coffin for head of state! Join #Oct1stProtest#RevolutionNow,”
