List of Govt Agencies To Be Scrapped, Merged in Orosanye Report Released | Daily Report Nigeria

The Stephen Orosanye report that called for a leaner government by merging some agencies and scrapping some others has identified agencies that will either be scrapped or merged.

The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation announced the update via their official channel on Monday.

Below is the list of agencies affected by the report implementation:

  1. National Salaries, Income, and Wages Commission: This agency will be subsumed under the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission, pending a constitutional amendment by the National Assembly.

  2. Infrastructure Concession and Regulatory Commission: It will merge with the Bureau of Public Enterprise and be renamed as the Public Enterprises and Infrastructural Concession Commission.

  3. Public Complaints Commission: To be integrated into the National Human Rights Commission.

  4. Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD): To be abolished, with its functions transferred to the Federal Ministry of Finance.

  5. National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and National Commission for Refugees: These will combine to form the National Emergency and Refugee Management Commission.

  6. Border Communities Development Agency: It will operate as a department under the National Boundary Commission.

  7. National Agency for Control of AIDS (NACA) and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC): The two entities will merge.

  8. SERVICOM to become a department under the Bureau for Public Service Reform (BPSR).

  9. National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA): It will return to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

  10. Federal Ministry of Science: This ministry will oversee a new agency that combines NCAM, NASENI, and PRODA.

  11. National Commission for Museums and Monuments and National Gallery of Arts: These will merge into a single entity known as the National Commission for Museums, Monuments, and Gallery of Arts.

  12. National Theatre will merge with the National Troupe.

  13. The Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa and the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps will combine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  14. The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission will transform into an agency operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  15. The Federal Radio Corporation and the Voice of Nigeria will merge, forming a single entity known as the Federal Broadcasting Corporation of Nigeria.
